Kids Western Belts
Your child outgrows a belt faster than a pair of boots. The buckle sticks. The strap runs long. The size never quite matches the jeans.
La Herradura Western Wear stocks 63 kids western belts from Nocona, Ariat, 3D Belt Company, Angel Ranch and Twisted X. Prices run $15 to $59. Real leather, real buckles, sized for growing cowboys and cowgirls.

Why Most Kids' Western Belts Get Sent Back
Parents return kids belts for three reasons. The size was guessed. The buckle was too stiff. The leather cracked after one season.
Waist size and belt size are not the same number. A child with a 22 inch waist does not wear a size 22 belt. That single mix-up causes most returns.
Cheap belts make it worse. Bonded leather splits at the holes within weeks. Glued buckles snap off at recess.
Our children's western belts come from brands that build youth gear the same way they build adult gear. Genuine leather straps. Double stitching. Hardware that survives a school year.
Boys' Western Belts: Tooled Leather, Longhorns and Trophy Buckles
Boys want a belt that looks like dad's. Our boys western belts deliver that without shrinking down a grown man's design.
Hand-Tooled and Cincelado Leather
Ariat and 3D Belt Company hand-tool floral and scroll patterns into full leather straps. The Ariat Kids Unisex Black Hand Tooled Belt runs $45. The tan cincelado version with the Ariat silver buckle sits at the same price.
Tooling holds its depth for years. The pattern deepens as the leather darkens.
Longhorn, Bull and Trophy Buckles
Nocona's brown longhorns and horses belt stays a top seller at $42. The 3D Company brown and black strap with a trophy buckle runs $39.
These buckles read from across an arena. Perfect for stock shows and junior rodeo.
Aztec Beaded and Stone Straps
Twisted X beads full Aztec patterns by hand at $45. Nocona's white multi Aztec stone belt hits $45 to $54.
Color does the work here. Turquoise, orange and multi-stone straps pair cleanly with dark denim.
Cowhide and Exotic-Look Leather
3D builds a boys belt in imitation cow hair at $55. Our kids cognac caiman crocodile belt runs $29.99. Hometown offers a brown imitation caiman at the same price.
Every hide panel is different. No two straps match.
Pair any of these with a pair from our kids boots collection for a matched leather tone.
Girls' Western Belts: Chain, Floral and Rhinestone Styles
Girls western belts split into two camps. Chain belts that sit at the hip. Leather straps that thread through loops.
Silver and Brass Chain Belts
3D Belts builds silver chain belts with turquoise, pink and black stone crosses. Most run $15 to $19. Nocona adds flower and heart versions with blue and pink stones at $39.
Chain belts wear over dresses and skirts. They need no sizing at all. Most are one size fits most.
Floral Cut-Out and Lace Leather
Angel Ranch cuts sunflowers and florals straight through the strap at $32 to $39. The brown floral lace belt adds a layered look.
Hometown's floral brown girls belt runs $42. Clean tooling, no rhinestones.
Heart, Cross and Cactus Conchos
Nocona's dark brown belt with a heart concho sits at $40. The cross silver buckle version runs $35. Angel Ranch builds a double sided cactus sparkle belt at $39.
Double sided means two looks from one belt. Flip it and the color changes.
Bling and Rhinestone Straps
Nocona's brown heart bling belt runs $40. Rhinestones catch light in photos and under arena lights.
Match a girls cowgirl belt to boots from our girls boots selection.
How to Find the Right Kids' Belt Size
Belt size is not waist size. Add 2 inches to your child's jean size to find the belt size. A child wearing size 10 jeans with a 24 inch waist usually needs a 26 belt. Belts measure from the buckle fold to the middle hole, so the middle hole should land at your child's true waist.

How to Measure an Existing Belt
Lay your child's current belt flat. Measure from the fold of the leather, where the buckle attaches, to the hole they actually use.
That number is the belt size. Do not include the buckle. If two holes look worn, use the larger one.
The Jean Size Plus Two Rule
No belt handy? Use the jeans. Add 2 inches to the jean waist size.
Youth belts run even sizes only. Sizes 18 through 30 cover most children. Round up when caught between sizes.
Leaving Room to Grow
Most kids western belts include five to seven holes. That gives roughly 4 inches of adjustment.
Buy one size up and your child starts on the second hole. You gain a full season before the belt runs out of room.
Not sure? Bring your child to our Selma or Columbia store. We will fit the belt on the spot.
Snap On Buckles: One Belt, Many Looks
Most of our youth western belts use a snap closure at the buckle end. Two or three snaps hold the buckle in place.
Unsnap it and the buckle lifts off. Snap on a new one and the belt changes completely.
Here is why that matters:
One strap covers every occasion. A plain buckle for school. A trophy buckle for the rodeo.
Buckles outlast straps. Keep the buckle when the belt is outgrown.
Kids pick their own look. Let them swap between longhorn, horse and cross designs.
Gifts get easier. Add a buckle to a belt they already own.
Browse our kids buckles to build a set. The rose gold horse square buckle stays popular with girls.
Check the snap closure before buying. Chain belts and a few fixed-buckle straps do not swap.
Matching Belts to Boots, Jeans and Hats
A western belt ties the whole outfit together. Get the pairing right and the look reads authentic.
Match the Leather Tone
Brown belt with brown boots. Black belt with black boots. Cognac and honey straps work with most tan and caramel boots.
Tooled leather pairs best with tooled or stitched boots. Keep the finish consistent.
Check the Belt Width
Most kids belts measure 1 to 1.25 inches wide. Youth jeans use standard loops that fit this range.
Wider straps from adult lines will not thread through kids loops. Stick to youth sizing.
Build the Full Outfit
For a stock show or junior rodeo, start with the belt. Add boots, then jeans, then the hat.
Our kids jeans run bootcut and straight leg, cut to sit over boots. Finish with a felt or straw option from our kids hats collection.
Photos, church, county fairs and school days all work with the same core pieces.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size belt does my child need?
Add 2 inches to your child's jean waist size. A child in size 24 jeans needs a 26 belt. Belts measure from the buckle fold to the middle hole. When caught between sizes, round up so your child starts on the second hole and gains growing room.
Are kids' western belts adjustable?
Yes. Most straps include five to seven holes, giving about 4 inches of adjustment.
Chain belts adjust differently. Many are one size fits most and hook at several points.
Can the buckle be changed on a kids' belt?
Most kids western belts from Nocona, Ariat and 3D use snap closures. Unsnap the two or three snaps at the buckle end, lift the buckle off and snap a new one in place. The swap takes seconds. Check the product page first, since a few styles use fixed buckles.
What is the difference between youth and boys' belt sizes?
Youth sizing covers roughly 18 through 30 in even numbers. Boys sizing at some brands starts higher and overlaps adult small sizes.
Measure rather than assume. Brand charts differ.
Are these belts made of genuine leather?
Most are. Ariat, Nocona, 3D Belt Company and Angel Ranch build their kids lines in genuine leather.
A few styles use imitation caiman or imitation cow hair for the print. Each product page lists the material.
What belt works for a rodeo or stock show?
Pick a trophy, longhorn or bull buckle in a tooled leather strap. These read clearly from a distance.
Aztec beaded and multi-stone straps also show well under arena lights.
Can I try a belt on my child in store?
Yes. Visit our Selma, NC or Columbia, SC store and we will fit your child in person.
Bring the jeans they wear most. We size the belt against the actual loops.
Do you have girls' belts with rhinestones?
Yes. Nocona builds heart bling straps and stone chain belts. Angel Ranch offers a double sided cactus sparkle belt.
Prices on girls rhinestone styles start around $15.
Kids western belts should last longer than one growth spurt. La Herradura Western Wear stocks genuine leather straps, snap-on buckles and youth sizes from 18 to 30, backed by two stores where your child can be fitted in person.
